From 1986 until 1988 I was the keyboard player for the Charlie Peacock Group, based in Sacramento, California. Playing with Charlie was definitely a fantastic and memorable experience and I occassionally miss those days - especially the musical interaction between all the members of the group.
Here are a couple of pictures from that era:
This picture
was taken backstage at the Filmore club in San Francisco in February of 1986.
We were playing at the Gavin Convention along with Bourgeois-Tagg. Bill Graham
was Charlie's management at the time and had arranged the event to get us
more exposure to all the radio program directors who attend Gavin. Back Row:
Bongo Bob Smith (percussion), Mike Roe (guitar), Aaron Smith (drums), Webbone
(keyboards), Eric Heilman (bass); Front Row: Shelli Burns (BGV), Charlie
Peacock, Clarice Jones (BGV) |
Charlie decided to keep
a more permanent band together starting in the spring of 1986. We became
a very popular headliner in the local clubs, as well as performing other
places and at several festivals in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. L-R: Darryl
Anders (bass), Bruce Spencer (drums), Charlie Peacock, Webbone (keyboards),
