The Wall Cemetery
Located in grassy area at the southwestern corner of Greenville Park, "The Wall Cemetery" was erected to honor the location of the old Water Street Cemetery where many pioneers and founders of Greenville were buried. Over the years grave stones were pilfered from the Cemetery grounds and used for porch steps or sidewalks and other constructions. Few of those could be reclaimed. Some were moved to the new Greenville Union Cemetery. Surviving stone fragments were even discovered in Greenville Creek. All surviving markers and fragments of stone believed to have been parts of markers are now set in "The Wall Cemetery".
