My great-grandfather, John Gerhard Casper VON_HOENE, is said to have died in 1867 in Chickasaw, Mercer County, Ohio, having moved there from Kentucky. His wife's name was Katherine STEGEMAN. A son, Joseph VON_HOENE was supposedly born in Chickasaw on 29 April 1865. I would appreciate any information re these individuals and/or suggestions on how to obtain such things as birth and death records as we have little factual information regarding our great-grandfather. Thanks for any help that can be offered.

George SHAFFER, B.1809, Germany m. Margaret SNYDER Migrated to Van Wert County in 1838. In 1840 added land in Mercer County, adjacent to the Van Wert farm. They had three children, Catherine, b. 1842, George, b.Feb 2, 1843 and John, b.Aug 8, 1845. George m. Elizabeth FLAGLER. They resided in Mercer County. They had the following Children: George Adam, William Henry, John Simon, Frank, Jacob, Clarence, Nellie, Otie, Grace, Cecil, Urcel, and Clark. Would appreciated information on this family. I have information on other SHAFFER branches available.

Seeking information of the death of William Evens HUGHES. Appears on 1920 census records, Mercer Co., Rockford Twp., with wife Mercy and is 78 years old. Appears to have left the Rockford area with his wife after 1920 for parts unknown. Was local Doctor and spent time in Wood county, Portage twp. 1880 prior to moving to Rockford.

Searching for info on ggg grandfather's family, John Hall and Mary Hawley CHAPMAN. Came to Mercer Co. in 1847-1848 in a wagon. Lived in Liberty twp. Son John Lloyd Burleigh CHAPMAN married Caroline KOCH, daughter of Lewis Henry and Margaret Katheryn DOCK KOCH. Would like to find descendents who have family pictures and info. JLB's sons began a business in early 1900's called Chapman Brothers, (Arthur, aka A.D., Carl, Lloyd and Roy). It was a dredging operation and they worked all over the midwest. Looking for my mother's Aunt Catherine and Uncle Tobias. They owned a clothing store in Celina. I believe they had a daughter who married and has the surname RENTSCH / WRENTSCH. I am really not sure about the spelling. She had 2 daughters, one of whom was named Kathy, and they lived on a lake in Celina area.
