CESSNA, CISNEY, MCVICKER, MERRICKS, SMITH posted by Matt Quinn on Sunday, August 20, 2000

Descended from an Edward MERRICKS (c1797-?) and Martha M SMITH (c1800-1844) who moved to Mercer Co., OH, from Danville, VA, in 1840. Martha M. (SMITH) MERRICKS is burried at the Hussey Cemetery. Am not sure when or where Edward MERRICKS died. Any information on descendants or ancestors appreciated. Their daughter Matilda Ann MERRICKS (1830-1915) married Stephen McVICKER (1827-1900)in 1849 in Mercer Co. Am curious if other McVICKERs settled in Mercer Co. as well. I do not know when or where Stephen's father William McVICKER (178x-?) died. For Stephen's mother Sarah A. CESSNA [CISNEY] (1786-1844), I have a death date, but no location.

BORROFF posted by Grant Reuben Borroff on Monday, August 28, 2000

I notice one BORROFF, Emma R and one BORROFF, John Estate V. Listed on on the pages _Mercer County, Ohio Birth Records_, Volume I (1867-1883) index. Referring to pages 62 and 86.

I am researching the family name (being my own!) from the UK and have found -very- few links to this Surname. Leading me to suspect that what few I find are likely to be linked. I would be keen to learn anything you can give me with regard to this surname. Kind regards. Grant.
