Darke Co. Sources and Lookup Volunteers

I have listed here some of the major Darke County, Ohio, reference books that are available, although certainly not all. Many titles (some listed here) are now out of print. Most lookups are currently done informally on the the Darke Co. Discussion list hosted by Jane Barr Torres (see main page). Those listmembers doing lookups for the list do not always wish to be listed here.

If you own any Darke Co., Ohio, books, whether listed or not, and will do lookups, please let me know so you can be listed below. As you can see, volunteers and alternates are needed!

Request a free look-up from books listed below following the guidelines below. These guidelines are designed to help the volunteers manage the requests they receive in e-mail. Please understand that the volunteers will not always be able to help in a timely manner, so please be patient.

1. PLEASE  limit your request to ONE name/couple per request and no more than two requests a day. We want to provide a service, not find full-time employment. [grin]
2. Please put DARKE COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked or accidently deleted.
3. Send your lookup request to the e-mail address of the volunteer.
4. In the first line of the message, please put the name of the book in which you are requesting the lookup.
5. In the second line of the message, please put your name and e-mail address for reply.
6. Describe exactly what you want looked up.
7. If you do not see the title or find a title with no volunteer, remember that many Lookups are done on the Darke Co. Discussion List. To join the DCO Discussion List and post lookup requests, write a message to listowner Jane Torres.
