"Smaller corps than last season but they've usually had small corps for the world class division and still do well. 3 times in semifinals if I'm right. Anyways, the show has to do something with spices and perfumes and has that far east feel that Mandarins like to have in their shows. Hornline puts out a good amount of sound for their size and the show has a lot of body movement that's actually not too distracting. My only gripe with the show is that the drum break drags on too long. Shorten it up and I think the crowd will enjoy it a bit more. Ending will be very effective when clean. Sorry I don't remember as much in detail as I did for Academy. " ~ Azul, on DCP

"Ah, my little home corps that could. Corps size is about 2/3s that of other World class groups, but when they need to they can let loose with some serious power. The mellos and baris are clearly the strong points in the brass. Drums were good, bit of dirt here and there, and the pit had an excellent feature, well done. Show ends with the drum feature, which I'm not sure means the show is finished. Kind of leaves the audience wanting more. Good show Mandies." ~ Guizeppe, on DCP

"I know the kids are doing what they are told but they really need to play out... Coming on after Pacific Crest wasn't fair to these kids as they were just nowhere near as confident with their show or music... Or their staff will not allow it. there was also a certain amount of choppy arranging which can make it hard to generate any real sound. It seemed they were always in a drum break and that is how the show ended, in a drum break? I assume when they learn the end of the show everyone will be doing something at the end. Sorry kids I know you work hard but I was not entertained but I did clap for you..." ~ Big Bad Bari, on DCP

"Mandarins- small this summer, good sounds at beg but then they have issues maintaing due to the lack of depth. Good show overall, needs to be completed as well!!" ~ wesleyrp, on DCP

"Mandarins great opening sequence. See about 3 holes during the stand still of the opener and see them constantly while marching. Regarding to Crackles comment, they do look smaller. Great sound." ~ BlueSharpie91, on DCP

"Their numbers unfortunately seemed a bit small and it seemed that some of their guard was unprepared. Overall, the show was okay but definitely not a personal fave from them in years past." ~ NeutralNovice, on DCP
