of California Davis I grew up in San Francisco and attended college and medical school at UC Davis. As the child of immigrant parents and the first generation to obtain a higher education, I developed a passion to serve the underprivileged. During my undergraduate and medical school years, I met many professionals who became my role models because of their love and sacrifice for the poor, especially those in developing countries. Thus, my decision to become a Family Practice physician is the culmination of my vision to serve the needy both here in Sacramento and, in the future, abroad in developing nations. Additionally, being a Family doctor would allow me to build meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients, which gives me the privilege and responsibility of having a long-term impact on their lives. I also hope that my bilingual skills (Chinese) will be of help to those who prefer communicating with their physician in Chinese. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading and serving the community through my church.

of California Davis I was born in a “sub-urban” city outside of Saigon called Bien Hoa, and I lived a short period in Vietnam before leaving the country with my family at the age of four. We settled in a refugee camp in Thailand before immigrating to the United States in 1986. Ever since our arrival, my family has lived in Orange County, California, which holds the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam. I spent most of my life there as well as completing my undergraduate study at the Univ. of California of Irvine. Eventually, I made my way up north to Sacramento for medical school at UC-Davis and have decided to stay here for residency as well. |

of California Davis I attended UC Davis' School of Medicine after graduating with a B.A. in German. During medical school, Family Medicine became a passion after realizing that it is one of the few specialties that truly unifies attributes and skills that can make an excellent doctor. Compassion for patients, attention to detail, hands-on experience, and longitudinal care are qualities that have drawn me into the field of Family Medicine. As such, I believe that an excellent Family Doctor is the best doctor one can have. The Mercy/Methodist Family Practice Residency Program in Sacramento certainly reflects these qualities and much more. Having joined an excellent team of physicians, I am very grateful for being a part of the family. On a lighter note, my free time is mostly spent reading, being with my wife and family, riding my motorcycle, and flying Afghan fighter kites.
