This section also offers basic information to alert you to ways that age-old
scams have been retooled for this new environment. Women in particular should learn how to protect themselves from the new crime of cyberstalking. Victims
Victims that have been tortured can look at the political victims in other countries. Americans do not suspect torture in California, hidden in trickery and deceit within social programs in law and medicine. The desire to outsmart the victim seems to allow siblings and members of Shriner's handicapped social programs to be above the law.
Victims often find themselves thrust into the glare of local, state, and even national media during the worst days of their lives. The challenge is to encourage the media to allow victims' voices to be heard and to educate reporters about how to report victims without inflicting further trauma.

Violence Evidence
Violence within families, which can range from child- to spousal- to elder-abuse, perpetuates violence in our homes and on the street. The Dixon Victim Alliance is pledged to exploring solutions that offer promise.
Research confirms that in those jurisdictions where emergency room personnel are mandated to report any suspicions of domestic violence, only 40% actually do so.

Activities
As an online we direct our members and others who contact us to appropriate groups organized for their particular kind of victimization, since research confirms that is most effective in promoting some protection.
We have no annual meeting but our online fulfills our commitment to communication and education by brining together experts on a particular topic of interest or concern to victims.
"This year, the MVA serves as local host for the Serial/Sexual Predator Conference, supported by a grant from the Michigan Justice Training Council. During that conference, MVA also plan to provide a community-based event, featuring Marc Klaas, so check back often for further details.
