| Ballroom
- Ultimate Dance Sport |
I
would call this my "home" studio. I have been taking
lesson with owner Danny Leher for many years. The studio's focus
tends towards competitive dancing but has social dances every
Friday night and classes for both competitive and social dancing
throughout the week. This is where I most frequently DJ. In
my opinion this is also the best dance floor in Sacramento. |
| Ballroom
- The Ballroom |
This
is where I first started taking ballroom lessons and still do
but just not as frequently. While I would call them the Sacramento
center for social ballroom dancing, they have very capable competitive
teachers and students also. They have a country western dance
party dance every Friday night and the largest social ballroom
dances in the area every Saturday night (possibly with the exception
of the semi annual galas hosted by Let's Dance Ballroom).. |
| Ballroom
- Spotlight |
Although
dancers of all ages are welcomed and do attend their events,
this studio tends to attract the youngest ballroom dancing crowd
in the area. Located in West Sacramento they attract dancers
from the Davis area as well as all of Sacramento. They feature
many classes and parties. Several times a month they have beginner
dance parties that are the best in the area for first time dancers. |
| Ballroom
- Roseville Dance |
This
is the newest studio in the area and offers the greatest variety
of dance instruction. In addition to social and competitive
ballroom dance they include instruction in Hip Hop, Jazz, KinderMusik
and Bollywood (and I'm sure I've missed a few). Check their
website for their ballroom dance party schedule. Many of their
parties feature their instructors as dance hosts. Because of
their warm family atmosphere, my wife picks this as her favoite
local studio. |

| Ghostriders |
My
favorite dance band is the Ghostriders. They turn an ordinary
square dance into an event not to be missed. I have had the
pleasure of dancing to them on numerous occasions as well as
performing with them as the featured caller at several events
sponsored by local clubs. |
