1. History

Ryland Court was built in 1989, by Johnathan Homes, part of the Orchird Park subdivision.

All of us moving in the new homes around the same time, being around the same age, starting and raising our families, created a great bond. A bond that shows in our court pinics, progressive dinners, helping a neighbors who's pouring concrete.... :) and of course, holiday decorating.

It started with two plywood cutouts and has gotten bigger and better each year. From the thirty old plywood cutouts, to the 8+ 17'6" ft tall wire christmas trees.

We have been featured on local TV (channel 10), local radio and newspapers Elk Grove/Laguna Neighbors, Sacramento Bee and the Elk Grove Citizen.

And let me give a special thanks to Derek Rothe, editor of the Elk Grove Neighbors, for all the great articles and press he and his paper has given to our court.

And thanks to the Elk Grove Citizen for selecting Ryland Court as the best decorated court in Elk Grove for the third year.

It is alot of hard work, but just seening the childrens faces press up against the car windows, their breath fogging up the windows, makes it all worth while....
