The List has moved!!!!
The Halloween List provides a place for Halloween ghouls to exchange ideas and information. This includes all things Halloween.
If you are interested in subscribing to the list, you can use one of the following methods:
Method 1: For people who have their Web Browsers set up for email, just click on subscribe or subscribe digest or unsubscribe . A properly addressed, empty mail message will be created. Then just send it.
Method 2: If the above does not work, then you will have to create the email by hand. This is not too difficult. Just create a new email message and send it to:
requests@WildRice.com
In the subject field, put
subscribe Halloween-L
You can leave the body of the message empty. Anything you do put there will be ignored.
To unsubscribe, do the same thing, but put a UN in front of subscribe to make the subject unsubscribe Halloween-L.
Note that the list requires that all posts come from people who are subscribed to the list, so make sure that the address that you subscribe from is the same one that you will be sending messages from.
The Halloween-l Registry created by Greg Hope (greghope@juno.com)

Stu McIntire provides the following downloadable file which spells out
fire safety guidelines for haunted houses in the State of Maryland.
These guidelines come from the office of the State Fire Marshal by way of
listmember Scott Robinson, a volunteer with the Sandy Spring (MD)
Volunteer Fire Department (thanks for providing this valuable
information, Scott!).
Keep in mind that fire, building, and safety code guidelines vary widely
from state to state. This file is provided for informational purposes
only and should not be construed as valid and complete guidelines for
every other jurisdiction in the U.S. These guidelines make frequent
references to the NFPA Life Safety Code. Further information about the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) can be located at:
Safety is (or should be) the primary focus and concern of every haunt
builder, owner, or operator. Before constructing and opening a haunted
attraction, contact your local fire marshal's office for the guidelines
that apply in your area. Working with your Fire Marshal, you can have a
fun, exciting and safe haunt.
Here is a searchable index of halloween-l archives. Reference.com has been
archiving halloween-l since June 1997. The default search is to only
look back the past seven (7) days. You may search farther back by
looking under advance search options. You may add any additional search
information. Example: "halloween-l & fog" or
"halloween-l & food"
Here are the raw archives.
Here are some from my Haunted Garage:
Here are a few images from Denny Dahm's home.
Here's some great images of Doug (DWFWW@jazz.ucc.uno.edu)
Check it out... WOW!!!! Check out his great descriptions
and instructions in the archives.

My good friend, Denny (milwiron@ix.netcom.com) said:
I know, I promised not to clog up the mailing list but I have to
share this information... The one instrument that produces the
creepiest sounding music, sound effects and is heard in all old sci.fi
movies is the "Theremin". This is a very old (1920's and '30's)
electronic device that produces the pre-Moog synthetic sound. Here are
two web addresses that will point to Theremin makers, music, kits,
schematics, history, etc. and the international Theremin club. Who
would've guessed.
Jbbarile's theremin site.
Mal's theremin site.
Just think....a Theremin added to a display with guest involvement?????
